Paved road into town

A nice asphalt paved road from the Cree aboriginal village to downtown Churchill,MB. Above the road is an overhead pipe/conduit for steam to the airport buildings. (if it was buried below ground level , it would melt the Permafrost disappear into the muskeg). Because of the muskeg/permafrost hydro poles are flimsy structures mounted in pairs for stability. The 2 big bldgs at end of road are the port of Churchill's grain elevators. The light brown structures are self contained apartment blocks. Built to keep roaming polar bears away from the 2 legged inhabitants ! (July 1976)
